Or computer software engineering. I know there are differences in them, just not sure. I want to be able to program video games using the c++ programming language, but if I hear if I were to get a degree in game and simulation programming, I wouldn’t be fit for jobs that need a computer science degree.
If I were to get a degree in computer science, would I still have the knowledge to create games? Or vice versa.

I have recently taken an ‘Interactive Media’ course at college, which can lead to jobs in Animation, Game Design and others. But what I want to know is how much demand is there for this type of stuff? I would also like to know about the salary per year for either animation, web design or game design. Also, is there more demand for one then there is for the other? And is it easy to get employed in these areas of work?

Any help would be much appreciated as I am currently unsure about my future, thanks.

I would like to get into the Video Game Industry, and the only class i have in high school is Business Programming. Is that a good way to start?

I’ve only recently started programming, but there is nothing else I have ever picked up as quickly or enjoyed as much. Even so, I think I may be getting ahead of myself when I start delving into things like game engines (id4, openGL, havoc…)

What kind of things do I need to know before I can start utilizing and understanding the APIs for game engines?

What programming language is the best one to use for creating a game?
I want to create a game, either simple or complex. I have mastered the basics of the programming languages of Java, HTML, and C++.
What should I use? Also, is there any graphics software which I need to use in order to create games?
