I am just learning html, and I have a load of questions, some of which, may not even be answered. I was wondering, you know how on a normal site you click on a text box and the text clears out automatically? Well I wanted to know how to do that on one of my text boxes. But once you click on the text box, you have to back out the Type your comment here. How do I make it so as soon as someone clicks on the comment box, the type your comment here clears out, or at least highlights so when the user types the comment, the type your comment here will be overwritten?

My next question is how do you make one of those “type the characters in the picture you see or hear” boxes? Those are rather cool, but if it takes more than html code, which it probably does, just let’s say I wanted the characters to be lhRiC3oz9
How would I make a box with those characters? Would you need to get a screenshot of the picture and upload the .gif file to the ma?tre d’h?tel? Or what?
Next question: How would I make a print this page link? Let’s say I type up an article, but there’s all this stuff in front of it that I don’t want the laser printer to print. How would I go about doing that?

Hi everyone! I am building a website for a school project and desperately need your help!

I drew some pictures which will be used as link buttons. I want them to change into another picture when someone hovers over the image so they know it is clickable. I also want to show a small note when they are over the image with the mouse. I can’t use Flash to make this so it has to be pure html and javascript only.

e.g. On particular websites, when you hover over a link or picture, a tiny yellow box appears with some captions or terms.

Last but not least, when someone clicks on a link, I want the link to open up a new browser in the size I want (not full screen) and there should be no side scroll bars as well.

If you know the scripts to this or know a website explaining how to do this, please provide me with a link. I googled for 2 straight hours but couldn’t find anything about it. Thanks!

I’m working on a div overlay for my myspace page and depending on the browser that I use to view my page (IE, moz, or opera) looks different. I have one main div container in the center and then I place all my content into tables which I split into 2 different rows and columns. Then the only additional floating objects on my page are my rollover buttons and my rollover top friends list. All my rollover buttons look fine in each browser but for some reason my rollover top friends at the bottom of my page are off by about 200px in opera and IE, but look fantastic in firefox. I noticed that my linebreaks are different sizes in all 3 browsers and I reckon this may be what is making the problem. Anyway to fix this?

Also could I maybe just make 2 or 3 completely different style sheets for different browsers? Not sure if that is a possibility with myspace.
